What types of conditions do you evaluate?

We assess a wide range of genetic and rare conditions, including:

• Developmental delays and intellectual disabilities

• Birth defects and congenital anomalies

• Autism spectrum disorders

• Connective tissue disorders such as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Marfan Syndrome

• Inherited cancer syndromes including BRCA-related cancers and Lynch Syndrome

Do you accept insurance?

MD Genetic Clinic currently accepts Florida Medicaid, Florida Medicare, Cigna, and Aetna First Health insurance plans.

For all other insurance plans, we are considered out-of-network. In those cases, we charge a $200 flat fee per consultation.

If you have out-of-network benefits, we can provide you with a superbill or submit the claim on your behalf so your insurance can reimburse you directly, depending on your policy’s coverage.

What should I expect during a telehealth genetic consultation?

Your virtual appointment will be with a board-certified medical geneticist. We will:

1. Review your medical history and family history in detail.

2. Discuss potential diagnoses and answer your questions.

3. Recommend genetic testing when appropriate.

4. Develop a personalized care plan based on your results and health goals.

Can you help with insurance authorization for genetic testing?

Yes. We handle insurance pre-authorizations, coordinate directly with CLIA-certified genetic laboratories, and work to minimize out-of-pocket costs. Our team will also discuss self-pay options if needed.

What laboratories do you work with?

We partner with top CLIA-certified laboratories including Invitae, GeneDx, Ambry Genetics, and other specialized labs to ensure high-quality and accurate genetic testing.

Do you see both children and adults?

Yes. We evaluate patients of all ages,  from newborns and children to adults and seniors - for inherited and rare genetic conditions.

Can I be tested even if I have no symptoms?

Yes. We offer:

• Carrier screening for family planning

• Predictive genetic testing for at-risk relatives

• Preventive health assessments for individuals with a family history of genetic conditions
