If you or your child has been diagnosed with an Inherited Retinal Disease (IRD), you may qualify for no-cost genetic testing and counseling through the My Retina Tracker® Genetic Testing Program, now available at MD Genetic Clinic.
This national program helps eligible patients gain access to cutting-edge genetic testing—without cost barriers—and connects families to resources, research, and clinical trials that could shape future treatment options.
The My Retina Tracker® Program offers:
Free genetic testing through PreventionGenetics
Free genetic counseling via InformedDNA
Enrollment in a national IRD registry to stay informed about research and therapies
Testing for eligible family members when a genetic change is found
This program is sponsored by the Foundation Fighting Blindness, PreventionGenetics, InformedDNA, and other partners dedicated to advancing care for IRD.
You may qualify if:
You live in the United States
You have a clinical diagnosis of an inherited retinal disease (e.g. retinitis pigmentosa, Stargardt disease, Usher syndrome, Leber congenital amaurosis)
You have not already had confirmed diagnostic genetic testing for the condition
Your eye care provider is enrolled in the program or agrees to participate
Confirms or clarifies your IRD diagnosis
Helps understand how the condition runs in families
May identify eligibility for gene therapy or clinical trials
Empowers informed family planning and future care
